Kaeley's Pet

I've mentioned before that Kaeley will often call Nathan's name and then let out a couple of clucks, as if she's coaxing a dog to come hither. I've told her before that Nathan is not a pet, but I don't think she gets the correlation.
Now Kaeley is a very good big sister, most of the time, and yesterday she and Nathan were in the bedroom together. She was going through her dress-up box and he was probably chewing on her beaded necklaces or something. She comes out singing a song, dressed up as a princess, and holding a fuzzy pink scarf. Nathan has the other end of the scarf, is following her around dutifully, and has a gold scarf draped over his head. She leads him into the kitchen and then back into her bedroom singing all the way. When she gets in the bedroom she starts tying the pink fuzzy scarf to his bed post. I've had more knotted up ribbons on furniture than I care to remember, so I impressed upon her the importance of not tying things on my furniture! "But, Mommy," she says, "Where am I going to tie him?"
Poor little leashed dog.
Kaeley's been talking about getting a poodle when she's five, because she likes their fancy haircut. I just let her dream, and don't tell her we live in an apartment that doesn't allow pets, nor did God bless her with an animal-adoring mommy. However, it got me thinking. I'll have to keep the children in close vicinity, because I'm sure she has high aspirations for Nathan's makeover.

ahahahahaha...Have I mentioned how much I adore Kaeley? Your stories are just hilarious. Now wait until he's old enough to create stories of his own, and have "boy reasoning" behind the things he does. ;) I can't wait! LOL

You know Janna, you could write children's books based on Kaeley! I mean what a personality and you are such a great writer and oh so funny!
