Summer Fun

Yesterday was a fun summer day. It was so hot that we made up our mind early to spend it in the pool. I was so proud of myself, because I hardly ever get in the water past my thighs. Unless the pool feels like a warm bath I just don't see the point. Yesterday I actually got all the way in to my chest! Sure, it took me fifteen minutes, but, hey, I did it none the less. A few minutes after we got comfortable the pool man showed up and we had to leave the pool so the chlorine could set in. We were forced back upstairs. Thanks to our wonderful balcony the kids sat outside in the sun and finger painted as I sat indoors and did my Bible studies. Nathan had blessed us with his presence quite early in the morning, and while he usually fights naps this particular day he fell asleep in my arms five minutes after eating his lunch! I couldn't believe my luck! I got to eat lunch, never put him back into his bed, and both children slept for a good two or so hours! After they woke up we went downstairs to try the pool again.
This time I hadn't thought about bringing snacks. Of course, my son with the big pot belly, spent his time crying over being splashed by older children and begging chips off our neighbors. We didn't stay out there too long with that cranky boy constantly reminding me that his stomach was digesting itself from hunger, but it was fun just the same... well, at least it was for me and Kaeley. After snack Kaeley did some school work. Christy showed up soon after that for our prenatal. Brad came home shortly there after and we all went to dinner at Chile Verde where I justified my way through an entire beef and potato burrito! Oh, I had to sit and digest for about an hour after that. Would I have died if I hadn't eaten the entire pound or so of grease, meat, potato, and tortilla? When will I ever learn?
