Yesterday Brad, my mom, the kids, and I went to Disneyland. Considering it was a Sunday there were hardly any people there. It was fantastic! Kaeley just happened to wear the right pair of shoes this day, so she was able to go three new rides. One of them was Thunder Mountain. She kept telling us emphatically that she did not want to go on the train ride, but as we passed by she started screaming, "Let's go on this one!" Brad took her and I must say I was doubtful. Shortly after Kaeley came running out of the exit screaming, "I had so much fun! I had so much fun!" She also rode on some silly kid ride that she was now tall enough for, but that was hardly a thrill-seeking ride.
Later in the afternoon we spent quite a bit of time at California Adventure's Big Bear play area, which is where Nathan's slide movie was taken. There was a little "creek" running through a certain corner, and I allowed both of the children to completely stomp their way through it until their socks and shoes were sopping wet. Nathan, of course, later bent down to blow bubbles in the water. I always tell him he's lucky to be the second-born, because there's no way I would have let Kaeley do that!
We also sat and waited for the parade. This was Nathan's least favorite time, because he had to sit down with Brad for a torturous amount of time for a little boy. We had let him visit with the curb neighbors, but he ended up spilling water on the man sitting to our left and then fell face forward onto the neighbors to our right. Once the parade finally started and the fairies, who were first in line, danced by in their sparkly dresses Nathan gave this disgusted look that just screamed, "You made me wait for this?"
Around six o'clock Brad and I decided that we had done enough and we would now go home. Kaeley, who had had a ten minute nap in the day, instantly broke down into tears, because she didn't want to go home. We should have warned her that such and such would be her last ride, but once the decision was made yesterday we couldn't go back. Her tears eventually stopped, and she added more volume to her bursts of yelling. Later in the evening, when we'd ask if she'd had fun she'd answer, "Yes, but I'm just so disappointed..." And after a while we didn't ask any more, because it was obvious we had ruined her life by leaving the park too early.
We all really did have a good time though, especially our tired Kaeley. And speaking of tired... that's my last field trip while pregnant!

I keep checking your blog with anticipation of Alynna's arrival. I keep thinking maybe she'll surprise you and be early, one can hope, right? Tell your mother-in-law or sister-in-law to inform me when the time comes. :)
