Several days ago my mom and I took the kids to the Long Beach Aquarium. Kaeley's bold enough to ask strangers questions, so she asked one of the workers if she could hold a Lorikeet. She picked the right person to ask, because she got to hold every bird that was in the mood to be social. Of course Nathan wanted to do the same, but for some crazy reason the birds just weren't into it. He kept trying to pet the birds, which isn't allowed, and the birds would nip his hand. The harder the bite the harder he laughed from delight.
It's been a very busy couple of weeks for us what with park dates, field trips with friends, my dad visiting, and Brad on vacation, so a couple of hours at the aquarium and both children were going a bit loony. After a while Nathan wouldn't stop to see the tanks unless my mom was holding him upside down. When we finally left I felt like we had escaped by the skin of our teeth! When we got to the car with the crazy kids I started singing, "Hallelujah! Hallelujah!" Nathan, our copy cat, piped up with his own version: LaLaLaLa!
