Disneyland

Another trip from Dad, another trip to Disneyland. We arrived at California Adventure at 10:00am when the gates had just opened. We walked on to many rides, which was fantastic! Kaeley was still too short for the roller coaster, but rode a crazy swing ride, which she had never ridden. That was just fast enough and crazy enough to make me feel a little yucky.
We went on the usual rides at both parks. Kaeley would not ride Tower of Terror with us! My dad wanted to ride the River Rapids in the freezing cold. He was quite disappointed none of us wanted to ride with him. Kaeley would have gone on with him except she was too short. We all agreed that Nathan would have joined my dad on this suicide mission.
For dinner we stopped at our favorite Mexican restaurant, which was nice and heated. There was a fountain close by, and I allowed the kids to play near it while we waited for our food. That turned out to be not that great of an idea. Nathan got wet all the way to his shoulder. Then Kaeley came over to me with her fist clenched. "Mommy! Look what I found in the fountain!" She had found a whole $0.26. Don't worry. She put them back.
We had a great time running from ride to ride. We left the park at closing and got home around 9:00pm. That isn't too late for our kids, but what with sleepovers at grandparents, zoo trips, and so on bed time turned out to be quite a commotion.
Alynna was crying. Nathan was moaning. He wouldn't even give me and Sissy kisses, because he wanted to go to bed with his pacifier so bad. Kaeley suddenly forgot how to follow instructions and put pajamas on. She stood in the bedroom wailing, moaning, screaming, and threw in the occasional cough for effect. At one point I wanted to tell her she sounded like she was in labor.
Brad came out later to help her. She was pathetic. She claimed, through tears, that she didn't know where the sleeves of her nightgown had gone. Brad got tired of the game and forced her arm through the sleeve. She became so indignant that she began the wailing as though Brad was sticking needles under her fingernails! Finally we couldn't take it any more and we both started laughing. Well, that made it worse. We put her to bed without prayers, clean teeth, or books.
So, needless to say, the kids and I are at home this morning watching television. Kaeley has a class later on today, so what with that and this busy week and a half I told them we were having a special treat: movie marathon morning!
