Last night Nathan suffered from his first stomach bug, which some how then transferred to my system overnight as well. It was a very involved night. I was having a dream that involved every insecurity known to man. I dreamt about giving my opinion to a group of people at church and my pastor and they all looked at me like I had two heads. You could have heard the crickets. I dreamt that someone was making fun of my beliefs in front of people. I dreamt that I was trying to be considerate and was fun of then as well. Don't ask me where all these ideas came from.
I woke up around 3:30am from that dream thinking I heard a child crying. I thought at first it was my kid and then decided it wasn't and then finally realized it was indeed someone in the next room and that someone belonged to me.
When I got to the room Nathan was walking towards me crying. I asked him what happened and Kaeley piped up that he had thrown up. Sure enough. There was chunky chicken and half-digested beans in the bed and on the floor.
I had to wake Brad and ask for his help, because I couldn't quite get myself to clean the puke without feeling quite fussy myself. When I told him I needed his help, because Nathan had thrown up, he answered, "Oh, you're kidding me." Remember me telling you that in the middle of the night I lose all sense of humor? Yeah, this innocent answer of my beloved just seemed so annoying at that hour of the night. I wanted to answer, "Yeah, I'm just kidding! Hahahahha! It's 3:30am in the morning. Isn't that funny?" But I didn't say anything that rude.
Brad cleaned it up as I cleaned Nathan into new pajamas. I put him back in bed and tried to sleep myself, but it wasn't easy for me to fall asleep. About twenty minutes later I heard more coughing. I went into the bedroom and found Kaeley next to Nathan trying to convince him to stick his head in the bucket. I didn't see any vomit, so I went to pick up his head and put it back in the middle of the pillow. I dipped my hand right into the pool of vomit waiting for me.
Long story short Nathan went through three pairs of pajamas before 6:00am. I tried falling asleep with the children in the living room as we watched It's a Wonderful Life, but it didn't work out. Brad switched places with me later on, I went back to bed, and ended up losing my dinner close to 5:00am.
You know Nathan is sick when he sits still for more than five minutes. Later in the morning he crawled up into Alynna's bouncy seat and fell asleep for an hour and a half. Then he watched part of a movie with us before falling asleep with Brad. I also know he's seriously sick, because he didn't even eat the french fries that were offered him for dinner!
He and I are on the mend. If I'm still sick by tomorrow it's my own fault. I had a bacon burger and some fries for dinner.
