Natural History Museum

Today the children and I attended our Natural History Museum’s free day. I wasn’t expecting huge crowds, because school’s out on spring break. Who brings their kids to the museum on spring break? Obviously that was faulty teaching, because it was packed! It made the experience a bit less enjoyable. I had to squeeze my large double stroller through the masses, wait for elevators five to ten minutes a piece, and why do children always go in opposite directions of their siblings?
However, while it wasn’t the best trip we’ve ever had it also wasn’t a nightmare. We just did our best and ambled through. We got to pet a stick bug, look at eggs from different birds, see their bird hall, and watch a little show about the movement of animals. In the show I just mentioned the presenter asked the crowd of children who was here with a school group. No hands went up, because it’s spring break. He asked, “Who’s in school right now?” Kaeley’s little hand was the only hand that went up. Kaeley’s homeschooled, so I guess in her mind she’s always in school. Since Kaeley’s hand was up Nathan put both of his hands up.
I’ll have a totally different strategy when we go next month. That’s if we go. Parking was raised to $8.00 a pop!
