I finally did it! I dusted off my sewing machine and got to work! In the past I have a mental block when someone says, "Hey, you could make..." Curtains, slings, etc, forget it! I'm not sewing anything! I'm just overwhelmed with the whole idea. HOWEVER! Kaeley very much enjoys using slings, just like Mommy. She usually uses a gold scarf to tie a stuffed animal around her body, but she's a growing girl, so the scarf no longer fits. I finally did some research online for some simple instruction on how to sew a sling. Nathan wants whatever Kaeley has, so I had to plan one for him too. I bought my fabric and notions on Monday night and by Friday I had all four of these projects made.I started with Kaeley's sling. She likes hers a lot. Nathan loves his sling, too, and his turned out quite a bit better, in my opinion, because I learned what-not-to-do with Kaeley's sling. I then cut some fancy fleece to make Nathan and Lambie a cape. Well, the stinker doesn't like his cape, so I'm thinking of making him a pillow case instead. I can't think of what else to do with the fabric, which was quite pricey seeing as how Thomas is on it.
On my birthday I made my purse, of which I am so proud! I really could have burst my buttons by yesterday evening, because I accomplished something that had previously scared the daylights out of me. My only question is... what's next?
