Yesterday Kaeley had a class at the Oceans of the Pacific. It was entitled "Silly Seals and Sea Lions". She now knows the difference between the two. I'm still lost.
The two younger ones walked around the aquarium while Kaeley was gone for her two hours. Both kids were pretty squirmy, so I chased them for about an hour at the aquarium and then strapped them both into the stroller so I could walk around the boardwalk for that last hour. It was fabulous! I loved getting out in the cooler air, sight seeing, and listening to my podcasts on my iPod. The two youngers weren't quiet until I paid them off with a snack.
The picture of Alynna and the rope is showing her taking the initiative to go underneath the rope to see the birds. She especially enjoyed chasing the birds on this trip. I remember when Nathan really liked it too. Several times I had Nathan plunging his sweatshirted arm into the touch tanks... usually all the way up to his elbow... and then Alynna would run in the opposite direction to chase pigeons. That's probably why I enjoyed the walk so much.
However, Nathan didn't want to go on a walk, so as I was buckling him in (I was going on a walk whether or not he wanted it) I said, "But, Nathan, we'll get to see boats!" He usually likes boats, but he started his usual mantra of, "No see boats eeder! Hated boats!" So I told him he could close his eyes. (see picture of boy in red hood)
