Kaeley Turns Six

Yesterday Kaeley turned six. All day long I heard her tell herself, "I'm six." "I can't believe I'm six!" "Happy birthday to me!"
We had quite a day! It was a good day, but, wow, was it long!
We had pancakes for breakfast, which is a rarity. I actually fix pancakes for dinner most of the time. Right after breakfast we zipped off to Disneyland to meet a friend whose daughter's birthday is today. We hung out with them until after lunch. We stayed at Disneyland until four! It was a good day to be there though. All the rides, except the news and most popular, were under ten minutes, which you just can't help but love! We even rode Toy Story Mania after only a twenty minute wait.
We then dropped the two youngers off at my in-law's house and the three of us "older" people went out to dinner. Kaeley chose to eat at Johnny Rocket's. Brad and I accidentally ordered specials off the menu, Thursdays just happened to be "kids eat free", and they brought out a large sundae in honor of Kaeley's birthday. Even with an appetizer and tip we spent $25.00! Now Brad and I had told Kaeley last week that she could go shopping at the mall with just the two of us and pick out a new outfit, some books, or a toy. She went back and forth between the clothes and the books. Well, we got lost in the Build-a-Bear Workshop and Kaeley had fallen in love with the mechanical hamsters called "zhu-zhu pets". I had seen these funny little toys in an ad before and, at the time, I thought, "What a crock! That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen!" Well, wouldn't it figure that Kaeley falls in love with one.
She bought a pink hamster, an outfit for the hamster, and the basic playhouse. She was itching to get home to play with her new toys. I have to admit I'm a fan. The hamsters are very cute. They are interactive and will zoom around the house and the hamster house. But the scam is the more pieces to the playhouse you have the more fun it is. I'm a collective by habit, so this could get me into trouble. :)
Brad and I slept very well.

Wow! What a jam packed day!! It sounds like she had a wonderful time. I too can't believe she's 6 already. Please pass on a Happy Birthday from us and let her know I'll call her this weekend.

Happy Birthday Kaeley!! Sounds like she had a GREAT day. :)
Oh, Eliana has a Zhu Zhu pet. I agree that they are very cute! Beware though- I have heard MANY true stories about the hamsters crawling near a little girl's hair and it got SO tangled up that the mom had to cut the girl's hair to get it out! That is the one thing I am a little worried about... though Eliana's hair isn't too long anyway.
