Small Pleasures

Nathan now speaks to my stomach. He's the perfect hight to stare right at my belly button. He'll yell at me, "Wait! Mommy, wait! I have to talk to your belly!" He'll put a hand on either side of my stomach, stare into the middle of my protruding middle, and say something like, "Baby Boy, I have a special treat for you on your special day!" Then he'll run away. He'll tell the baby, "Baby Boy, when you come out I will be the teacher!"
It's times like that, in the very tiring, messy, and loud stage of my life, that I'm reminded it's all worth it.
