Last year Nathan wanted a Star Wars birthday. He talked about it for months. I bought the appropriate stationary, plates, tablecloth, etc and served his breakfast on all the Star Wars garb. I guess that wasn't what he had in mind, because the very next day he was telling people he was going to have a Star Wars birthday next year with a Star Wars cake. Well, this year I was determined to get it right! My mother-in-law made the chocolate cake, I bought the Darth Vader and used existing toys, and she stuck them straight in the cake. Nathan was thrilled. I haven't heard plans for next year's party yet, so we might have struck gold this time.
