Kaeley's New Haircut

I gave Kaeley the option to get her haircut today since I was at the salon anyway. I said it was completely her choice. She could grow it out or chop it off. It was completely up to her. I must stress that so I don't get blamed by the powers that be.

She thought about it half way till the salon before finally deciding: chop it. I asked her how short she was going to get it. She pulled her hair into a ponytail at the nape of her neck. I encouraged her no to go that short, because Daddy would cry. She held fast though. I know... surprise, surprise. Anyway... she said she wanted to look like Ramona. We're big fans of Beverly Clearly's Ramona Quimby. And I think Kaeley is also a big fan of freedom. Now, with her short hair, she is free to sweep a brush through her hair and move on with her day.

I must say that I'll miss the little ponytails, but I'll enjoy the freedom with her. She does look like Ramona. I think I like the long hair, but she looks awfully cute with the short hair too. As you can see from her sassy little pose there in the picture, she is very proud of her new do.
