He Owns the Night
So my son woke me up. This was Saturday night. Yes, my son woke me up... the four year old woke me up. I was already somewhat awake around the 1:20am era. I think I woke up automatically, because that's the time that Simon usually wakes up to eat. Simon was rustling around next to my head and I was just waiting for him to fully wake up. Then comes a knock on the door. I sleepily told the intruder to come in and in comes a short little boy with his flashlight. I can tell you that at 1:30am a flashlight is very, very bright. :) In Nathan comes asking me in a very bright and cheerful voice if I can help him with his door, because Kaeley and Alynna wouldn't help him. I staggered out of bed. I don't know what exactly he was wanting, but it involved his door somehow. He had already tried to wake up the girls, but, thankfully, they didn't budget. I shut their door again, fixed whatever was wrong with his door, and put him to bed. I went back to bed to feed Simon. I later got up to put a sock in the door, because the wind was causing it to bang in the door frame. This was now 2:00am. That's when I discovered my sweet four year old had turned on his bedroom light and was sitting up in bed reading TinTin comic books. It was two in the morning! Upon my request... demand, request... whatever :)... he not only handed down his books one at a time, but he happily counted, "One... two... " and on until he had handed down all these books. Sigh. Two in the morning and he's reading comic books.

Oh, NO, the TinTin comic books have become a menace to insomniac 4-year-old boys. What a funny little guy. Of course, I can say that...I'm WAAAYYY over here...
