Armed Forces Day Parade

Every year the city of Torrance puts on a large Armed Forces parade. The whole community gathers down one stretch of street to watch marching bands, dance teams, and to honor the military. It's a fun tradition that our family looks forward to each year. We all sported the country's colors and waves flags and made silly glasses look quite fashionable.

He knows he's just too cool for words.

One would never guess I bought the accessories at the dollar section of Target. What, then, might you ask, is that blue dye on Nathan's neck? Um, high quality skin care?

This is the last I saw of Nathan for the remaining of the parade. He befriended an older woman sitting by herself next to us. The two of them chatted and held hands through out the parade. Kaeley sat with some friends from church. Well, we still had two of our four children for our family tradition.

After a while we lost Simon to our church friends, a man he had never met before, and Alynna to the man's wife. Sigh. We have the type of kids who would gladly jump in a stranger's car to help them find their lost kitten. We do a lot of praying in this family. Might you join us? We need all the support for protection we can get for these fearless, nose-stuffing, marble-swallowing, wandering kids!
