Seven Months

Seven Months! As I suspected that sixth month started moving a bit slower than before. I'm expecting the countdown to slow down considerably as the time comes closer. I'm still not looking forward to the labor part of this deal, but I am getting very excited about the baby part! I've always been excited about another baby, but as I get bigger, make small plans to welcome her into our family, and discuss birthing matters with Christy, the midwife, the excitement compounds! I see pictures of Nathan's birth and I nearly crawl out of my skin with anticipation. Hey, only twelve more weeks, give or take a few, right? Sigh. Boy, that's a long time.
It's been a good month. The back pain is mostly gone as long as I don't overdo the walking and housework. I have, as you can tell from the picture, reached the point in pregnancy where sleeping anywhere close to on my tummy is not possible. Too bad, because I had a whole system worked out with my beloved body pillow. That doesn't cut it anymore. I also used to take naps on the couch, because my belly fit perfectly into the crack of the couch cushions. I can't do that any more either!
Nathan likes the change though, I think. The belly makes a perfect head rest while we read books. Well, Nathan will sit there for about a minute and a half before he finds something else to do, but when he is sitting he likes resting his head on my "lap". The growth, for that matter, benefits me as well. There's been a couple of times I've dropped a piece of something I was eating and it landed square on my belly. That's a good and bad depending on what I'm eating. You know, spaghetti and oil - not so good. It also makes a great shelf for popcorn bowls as I lounge and watch television.
