Seaside Lagoon

Today I took the kids to Seaside Lagoon again. This time it wasn't in the cold of night, but the cool of the beach morning. They had so much fun it was ridiculous! They loved the silky sand and warm water. Kaeley, for whatever reason, decided to rub wet sand on Nathan's belly at one time. For a while he just kind of laughed and ran off. I watched with caution. I figured kids will be kids and I'll just pretend we're all at the spa where you have to pay money to get mud rubbed all over your body. Well, then Nathan decided that his entire body needed the sand treatment. That was still boarder line okay with me. Then he started piling sand on his head. Oh, what a mess! That's when I had to draw the line. He'd pile it on and just laugh.
Kaeley enjoyed "swimming" in lagoon. She also pretended to make bread with all the wet mud or pretended to be an Israelite making bricks for the wicked Pharaoh. Guess what story we're currently reading in the Bible, huh? Guess who the wicked Pharaoh turned out to be. Poor Brother. One day he'll either be able to stick up for himself and say he doesn't want to be the evil Pharaoh, or he'll embrace the role and play it to a T.
After a while they migrated to the playground. Nathan climbed up more ladders than I could count. It drove other mothers crazy as they watched him climb up by himself. They'd look around nervously for his mother and then laugh when they realized I was standing a foot away watching without angst... well, I watched with caution.
The only down side of the lagoon was the amazing amount of sand we brought home. There was sand in our lunches, our wet towels were covered in it, I couldn't even kiss the faces of my children without chewing on grit a few seconds later. We came home, the kids took a quick bath, and you can guess from the picture of my bath tub that I had quite a chore in front of me during their nap time.
Too bad I don't have a lagoon in my backyard!

We missed each other! I took the kids to the Lagoon from 2-5. Jeramy met us there at 3:30.

Kaitlyn had been nosy last week and saw the Lagoon mentioned in my email that was open on the monitor, and asked me about it.

Glad the kids had fun!!! :) We'll have to plan a day sometime soon, and take them all back.
