No, I'm kidding. It wasn't that bad, but since I actually tried to get some things done it wasn't the calm day that it was yesterday. Whew! It started out normal and quiet, so I made the mistake of trying to go through my closet. I really should have waited until Brad was home or the kids were asleep. So, while I was in the bedroom with Kaeley Nathan disappears, and a few minutes later I hear a crash. I instantly knew... poor Simon... our dwarf hamster had been attacked. His newly cleaned cage had been pulled onto the floor. Sigh. There was, and still is, pine shavings and food all over the floor. Thankfully our hamster was not hurt and was still in the cage when I got there. When I finally get around to cleaning the mess up I will be putting that lovely sight on top of our entertainment section. My decorating style? Functional Family.
Everyone gets dressed, the kids each grab a book, and we head down our three flights of stairs and into the car. I went to my OB, who I saw once, for a confirmation of pregnancy. Their office had no toys for the kids and it wasn't the in-and-out that I had assumed it would be. I left with a simple piece of paper and a prayer that this paper would get me through the birth certificate process. Oh well, I'll do the best I can and cross that bridge when I get there.
So, we head back downstairs to the car. Once in the car Nathan starts whining to drink the smoothie I had picked up. He doesn't stop whining until we reach the library. The library is always an adventure with that boy. He doesn't read the books as much as he likes seeing what happens when they're yanked off the shelf. We accidentally showed up for the library's story time, which was nice for Kaeley. Oh, one of the pictures I added was to show you all how the girl walked out the house. Yellow polka dot pants with a blue striped shirt. Thankfully I was able to talk her out of wearing the belt.
We got back in the car to go home. Just two little errands. Alynna cried most of the way home and Nathan was still whining for my drink. Neither children wanted to walk back upstairs with the books they had left the house with. Nathan was constantly dropping his on the floor and shaking his head when I told him to pick it up. Kaeley had to stop every few steps and cry about what hard work it was bringing the book upstairs.
I threw some noodles in the microwave for lunch, nursed Alynna, Nathan whined because he didn't want noodles, and Kaeley argued because she didn't want the spinach. I decide to put Nathan down for an early nap. I sit down with Kaeley to read her before-nap time books. Alynna starts crying. I pick her up, sit down with Kaeley, and Alynna vomits all down the inside of my shirt.
Finally everyone was fed, including myself, everyone was in bed, including myself, and I took a nap. My naps used to be little cat naps that carried me through till bedtime. Now, After-Alynna, my naps are deep enough to make me wonder where I am when I start waking up! As soon as I realized I was at home for a nap I heard Nathan knocking on the door. His nap was a whopping hour long.
I don't really want to quit this new job of mine. I'm no where close, but it was a bit more of a normal day than it was yesterday. Whew! And it's only 3pm. What does the rest of the day have in store for me I can only imagine.
