In hopes of starting a new tradition in the Saavedra family household we began doing Friday Game Night. This past Friday we played Animal Charades. It took Kaeley a little practice to understand fully what was expected of her. She would mostly talk. She'd say things like, "Well, it says meow, it has a tail, and dogs eat it." One of my favorites was when she got on the "stage" and said, "Well, pretend I have a long neck, because I can't act that out. And I walk on four legs." Brad told her to act out walking on four legs. She looked behind her and clearly argued, "But I only have two legs! How can I act that out?"
Brad had been eating enjoying a few pieces of candy. The whole family had already had their pieces, but, of course, Nathan kept trying to get to Brad and show him how much they really loved each other. Brad held firm and would not share. At the end of our game hour Brad offered me a lick of his lollipop, which I find rather gross, and then offered a lick to Nathan. The little boy, within a second, wrapped his entire mouth around that disk of candy, bit down on just the right spot, and ended up with the whole thing in his mouth. Brad was left with a little white naked stick. Brad, Kaeley, and I laughed until we had tears rolling down our faces. Nathan just smiled enough to show satisfaction but not enough to lose his candy that was making his cheeks bulge out.
The one thing I learned from our tradition? Saturday Afternoon Game Time is much better than squeezing in some raucous play time a few minutes before bedtime!

That's hysterical about the lollipop!!
And that's really funny that you find a lick of your husband's lollipop gross - you DO kiss your husband, right? lol ;)
