New Toys

Brad's new office building is in a very dangerous part of town for me... the shopping district! I passed a Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Old Navy, Linens and Things, which was having a sale, and many, many more. Whew. Did that get me in the mood for spending money. Yikes! He's also down the street from the Mattel factory store. I had a coupon to the store, and had already planned on visiting.
We walked out with a new Shake-N-Go car for Nathan. It's this hot little sports car for little boys. You shake it, let it go, and after a lot of roaring and grunting from the car, it'll speed off. He liked it so much he went to nap with it, but it was quickly taken away since he couldn't stop playing with it and go to sleep.
Now Kaeley, on the other hand, picked out a little box of Barbie fairies. There is a queen, a more casual female, and a prince. Once we got in the car I began to wonder where my daughter gets these over-the-top girly ideas. She has the male start kissing the girl. Then I hear her saying things like, "Gasp! I thought you said you were going to marry me!" "No, I don't love you, Queen!" "But, you said I was the fairest of them all!" Then a quiet scream. "Oh, you caught me!" "Why don't you love me?!?" "I do love..."
On and on it went. Sigh. Who knows where she gets this stuff. It's not like I have soap operas on when I'm home with the kids. That would be my husband. :)
