Remember I took Nathan to the doctor's on Friday? Well, I took Alynna on Tuesday. She had a slight fever on Monday, was wheezing, wouldn't sleep longer than two hours at a time due to coughing and stuffiness. She has Bronchialitis. I'm guessing at the spelling. She is now on the nebulizer three times a day. It seems to help the breathing over all and I pray God heals her quickly. Last night she finally fell asleep only to wake up a couple of hours later to cough and hack and finally choke for several seconds (seemed like several minutes) until she turned bright red. It was so bad I thought I was going to have to call 911. It's one thing to have a child choke on food, because I at least know what to do for the most part. What do you do when they're choking on snot, or saliva, or who knows what it is and who knows where!
Anyway, that was quite startling to see.
She slept better last night thanks to suctioning and the nebulizer.
I learned how to rent a movie from iTunes and put it on my iPod, so instead of constantly asking Kaeley to stop loudly singing in the doctor's office or telling her I was fine with answering the doctor's questions without her help, I just gave the two kids a bag of popcorn to share and turned on our little movie. Whew! It was a pretty quick trip, all things considered, but that movie was awesome!
There was a beautiful little African American boy getting an eye check at the office while we were there. I could hear him reciting letters right in front of our door. I wanted to adopt the little boy! I could hear the nurse reminding him to stand behind the yellow line. He finally piped up, "You've just gotta move that thing closer!"
