I took Kaeley shopping on Thursday for our shredded cheese and tortillas. She had ten dollars left in her fund. I suggested buying bananas or tooth paste or something for the homeless to take with them. No. Kaeley decided to bring cookies. It was "her" money, so we bought two big boxes of cookies.
Well, yesterday I had a great time buying a dozen cheap books at a homeschooling sale. I had planned on giving them a short nap, having Kaeley wake up early to make all these quesadillas, and leaving the two youngest with my mom while Kaeley and I peacefully worked at the BBQ.
A friend ended up being in need yesterday, so my mom lovingly watched all three children so I could be with my dear friend all day. My wonderful mother made quesadillas, packed up the three kids, and all of them worked the BBQ!
Since I wasn't there I can't tell you too much about their experience. I hear she worked hard though. Now get this... the quesadillas were gone, the lunch was served, and then it was discovered that no one had planned a dessert. Oh, but wait... Kaeley had brought two boxes of cookies! See? Even God appreciates the sweet things in life!
After the event I picked up the kids and asked Kaeley what she did. She talked about some Jim and some Michael that she served, and she did "this" and she did "that", and Nathan sat in her plate of beans, but then she said, "And then the best part? I got to play!"

Awww, I didn't realize yesterday was the day. Your mom is awesome - to step up like that. What a blessing.
Miss you guys.
