The Nose Ring

Last night the kids were eating Cheerios out of a baggie for snack. We were driving back home from my in-law's house. Kaeley figured out that if you nibble out part of a Cheerio you can attach it on to your nose. When she showed us her new nose ring we all laughed.
Well, of course, her little side kick was in the car eating the same snack she was, so a few minutes later Nathan starts hacking and coughing and spluttering. He's had a slight cold all week, so no big deal, right? Until he starts sneezing and telling us his nose hurts. That's when the light bulb came on and we all burst out laughing knowing that he had tried to copy Kaeley and her nose ring and ended up stuffing a Cheerio up his nose. We were laughing hysterically while we tried to tell him that under no uncertain terms was he to stuff foreign objects up his nose!
I assumed that the sneeze had brought forth the culprit.
Brad put Nathan to bed that night. He came back out saying, "You know he has a huge Cheerio stuck up his nose, right?"
It's all good now. Brad was able to gently squeeze the ring out of Nathan's nose. I'm sure Nathan would have liked to eat that particular Cheerio, too, but Brad thew it away and kissed the boy good night.
Another milestone. We hadn't experience that one yet. I knew it was coming when I gave birth to a healthy happy boy.
