12 - Buying the Christmas Tree

Yesterday we brought the tree home. Cheesy, I know, but we bought our tree, for the second year in a row, at Rite Aid. It feels silly even saying that, but the 2-3 foot trees that we usually buy were a whopping $19.99! We brought home a crooked little tree thinking that we could pry the wooden slats off and place in a large bowl of water. It is a little funny tree. However, Brad loves it and as long as no one says anything negative about it the kids will continue to adore it.
I had Brad take a picture of me to prove to the world I was in attendance as well, but the glare was unbearable to me and I couldn't keep my eyes open. I'm already not a very easy to take an attractive picture of, so I had him keep trying. By the time I remembered I should put my sunglasses on it was too late and Nathan accidentally caused the wooden folding sign displaying the prices to come crashing to the floor. But that's not before it hit him in the head and scraped Kaeley on the back. Before I knew it we had two screaming children and an incredibly embarrassed mother. Why do I bring these barbarians out in public?
After we had the tree of our dreams we went to McDonalds for a late lunch. About a thousand calories later it was time for precious nap time. Hurray!
