These are small pleasures, but they are actually bringing huge amounts of pleasure every time I look at them. The first are new slip covers I sewed for our poor couch pillows. The original pillows came with the couch. They were fine, but there wasn't anything exciting about them at all. I finally got around to sewing them after I found a tutorial from one of my favorite craft blogs. I also fell in love with the flower fabric, so that helped boost my excitement. Now every time I see them I have happy feelings run through me.
The other two pictures are of our kitchen window. Thanks to another craft blog I enjoy following I put the kids to work making crayon shavings which I cut into different sized hearts. The tulle was borrowed from my mom for free. There is a garland of pinkish beads woven in the "curtain" as well, and I picked those up for $0.69 from Joann's Christmas section.
Sigh. I love it!

Love love love the slipcovers!! and the hearts are so adorable!
Ya know i've never learned how to use a sewing machine. Was never really an interest of mine...it was always Neely's thing as well as my mothers. But now that i'm older I would love to learn to make my own things. My mom said she's teach me with hers anytime...I need to get on that!
