Armed Forces Day Parade

Happy belated Armed Forces Day! How thankful I am to live in the greatest country on Earth! How proud I am of the men and women who serve to protect me and my family.
Every year our city hosts a parade to honor our men and women in service. We also get to wave to some city officials, local school bands, and a few other misc. This is, I think, our fourth year making a big family to-do. This year we packed a picnic lunch and met several church friends and Brad's dad, nephew and niece.
Boy, did we have fun! The kids and I waved our American flags. We hooped and hollered. We screamed, "Thank you!" and "You're our heroes!"
One of the best parts of the parade include the large army trucks from World War II era all the way to present. There is always an army fire truck that sprays water all over the innocent by-standers. Kaeley and I hid behind a tree. Brad chose to take a walk to the bathroom. Nathan covered himself with a blanket. Alynna, as you can see, was not so proactive.
I wish I could personally thank all of the men and women that passed by us that day. I wish I could hug the men who fought in past wars, introduce our children to those that are currently protecting our country, and thank the new recruits. They are my heroes.
