For a couple of weeks I had planned on visiting the El Dorado Nature Center on this past Monday. My friend, Jenny, was going to join us. Jenny called me that morning confirming that we were going to go even though it was wet. I was so set on going it didn't even occur to me that it was wet outside. I said, "Let's do it!" She calls back not five minutes later and sweetly asked, "Did you know that the nature center is closed today?" Sigh. Well, obviously not. :)
I personally think it was a big conspiracy. Just the day before she and her husband had renewed their Disneyland passes. Well, guess where we ended up going? And you see, I think I have the only daughter who will cry when the nature center is cancelled and she's forced to go to Disneyland.
Plans were made, school was finished, I threw everyone into the car, and we headed out for the freeway. Long story short, who should I find myself sharing a freeway with but our neighbors, cousins, and friends... Katie and Morgan Saavedra! Turns out they were going to Disneyland too!
Kaeley was thrilled! She had found a dime in the parking lot that morning and now Morgan just happened to be going to Disneyland, too? It was just all too much!
The kids had a great time playing with their friends and the moms, well, we all had a work out keeping up with eight children. It was a very special time together.
On the way out of the park I succumbed to a sweet tooth and spent a large amount of money on four little treats for us and a soda for me. I let the kids watch the classic cartoons in the theater before we left the park for good. I imagined a cute picture of the three of them smiling happily through chocolate. I still think the picture is cute, but you can tell everyone is watching the cartoons.
