The Search for the Impossible

For as long as Brad and I have been married we have bought three-foot Christmas trees. It's just our thing. It fits nicely, all of our ornaments fit without making the tree look as through it's naked, and it usually saves us money.
Tonight was the night. The night to find our tree. Well...
Lot #1: nice trees, good prices, no stands.
Lot #2: fine trees, good prices, no stands.
Pat & Oscar's for dinner
Lot #3: beautiful trees, outrageous prices, stands sold for an arm and a leg.
Lot #4: okay trees, too expensive, who cares about stands.
Lot #5: ran into Big Lots to see if they had a reasonable looking fake tree, but their tree was big enough for maybe a quarter of our small collection of ornaments.
Lot #6: No, there was no lot #6. We gave up. The kids were over tired from a long day with no nap, Brad and I were discouraged, and I could feel the "witch with a capital B" attitude creeping up on me.
So, we'll try again tomorrow. We might be buying a fake tree this year, because I am not interested in starting a family tradition of searching for hours for an affordable small tree to enjoy for two weeks.
We intend to get a tree tomorrow... even if it's a ficus tree or a fake palm tree!
