There is a fountain in a nearby mall that is open to children during the summer. My girls have never been impressed with it, but Nathan, as you can see, was in heaven. The poor little guy has one pair of swim trunks. He needed to wear them later in the day for swimming class, so I squeezed him into a pair of 12 month swim trunks. That's terrible, I know. That morning I did order a pair that is 4/5, so there is hope for our poor little future-plumber. But isn't he so cute in his goggles? His lovely swim teacher gave him a pair at the second class. After that he traded them in twice for different pairs. He was excited about everything. I once watched him negotiate with the life guards at the pool about playing with a plastic boat he had found in their supply room. I couldn't hear the conversation, but I did see him standing with the boat, talking to two life guards for quite a long time before they were able to take the boat and lead him back to the water.
Back to the topic... he had a good time in the fountains. His poor little swim trunks and goggles made the day quite memorable for me. It's probably one he'll rue when he's older. I had good intentions.

I just love these pictures. He's such a happy little boy cavorting in the fountains of (what must be) COLD water.
