Animaland

I was going to start this post with "One of the highlights of our trip..." but the list of highlights is so long I'll just skip that part. This is Animaland. It's a charming family-owned hybrid zoo/petting zoo family. The kids were in love! Some of the highlights of the highlight :) are as follows:
Seeing Kaeley give the evil eye to a goat who pushed another goat out of the way to get to the corn she was offering.
Alynna shout, "No, Hog! No, Hog!" to a sheep that was pushing all his comrades out of the out to get to her corn.
Finding a woolly mammoth caterpillar.
Watching Grandma throw a graham cracker into the bear's cage even though the signs said "Don't Feed the Bears".
That was a very fun outing. The kids loved just about everything. We were even amazed by the reasonably priced gift store. And THEN!!! we got to drive home through the beautiful Pennsylvania country side. I couldn't get enough of the colorful rolling hills covered with corn fields and cows and horses. There were old red barns with silos scattered through out. John Deere tractors were parked in some years. Clotheslines were filled with jeans. Families set up tables of honey bottles or soap for sale in their front yard. Thankfully the children pulled me back down to reality as Alynna named her pet caterpillar "In-N-Out" and squealed in delight when we drove by the only McDonald's I had seen in miles.
