Campfire Dinners in Pennsylvania

Here are pictures of us having meals in the Great Outdoors.
Nathan loved finding large walking sticks. The problem was Raker really liked sticks too. Any time  the stick moved  Raker would get ready to play fetch. It was humorous to watch this ensue, because Nathan never wanted to throw his stick to the dog.

Grandpa introduced Nathan to the be-be gun. Now Nathan's boyhood is complete.

Climbing as usual.

Grandpa and Simon reading in the cabin.

Eating strawberry shortcakes outside.

My son had an uncanny love for mustard on this trip. The boy loves condiments in general. Here he has a mustard mustache, mustard on his feet, mustard on his hands, and like a quarter cup of mustard on his hot dog.

I don't know what happened to Alynna this night, but she was a ball of energy and giggles! Here she poses like only Alynna can.

Raker patiently waiting for a smore.

Raker patiently waiting for a hot dog.

Raker didn't get a full smore, but he sure did enjoy a marshmallow. You can see it dripping off his mouth.

The girls were very sweet to Simon. The little guy bounced from Sissy to Sister eating marshmallows and chocolate.

Here is wonderful Raker. He's a good ol' dog. He would sometimes look at my crazy children playing all over the floor and screaming with a look that said, "Why do you have to be so loud?" I know, Raker, I know. But he was always very good about getting up from his cozy spot and moving to a less chaotic spot.

Again patiently waiting for a smore.

Nathan found a small frog near the Tioga River. He called him Buddy.  Nathan finally added in so many rocks and grasses and leaves that Buddy jumped out and disappeared. Nathan was almost in tears. He sadly said, "Buddy was my only friend."

Trying to lick marshmallow off each other's nose.

Like I said... only like Alynna can.

A hot dog cooked over the open flame is just so delicious!

Kaeley and Nathan walking to the back shed in the light rain.

Here is a good picture of my grandparents' little cabin. It's so beautiful.

Raker is still probably patiently waiting...
