At Grannie's House

While Brad and I were at the Missions Alynna and Grannie went grocery shopping for dinner, which included crawdads.
Nathan was fascinated by the poor crawdad. He played with one of the "pets" so often he eventually got snapped by one of them. That hurt his feelings, but it rather served him right. I mean, the little critter probably already knew that his doom was right around the corner and now there's an annoying little boy picking and prodding at him. I'd have done the same thing. We finally had to banish Nathan from the poor sea creature until later.
Kaeley, who is spending nearly even waking moment sketching, took the chalk provided by my parents and drew on every flat surface available in the back yard. Here the Saavedra family was beautifully displayed for all to see. Alynna was a princess, I had flowing red hair, and Brad looked like a blue Pinocchio. They were darling! She also drew the water cycle on the garage wall.
The tire swing was a favorite of all children.

Nearly every day Simon would have a meltdown about something trivial, which, when interpreted by a parent, is baby for, "Save me from myself!" Nap time.
Call it revenge for the snap to his fingers or the cycle of life, but the crawdad was eventually eaten by Nathan. None of the girls could quite get behind eating something they had just recently defended, but Nathan chowed down without a doubt.

As little as two weeks ago Kaeley would not let us take her picture in fear of it going on Facebook. She has since then passed the torch of camera-shy to Alynna. I had a mini photo shoot with the tall young lady on the swing and loved the results.
