I could have taken a million pictures of the fun we had at Lake Gregory, but our pictures must end here as my phone's battery died. Thankfully Brad was faithful to snap a few pictures for us.
We didn't really want to go to Lake Gregory at first because it was so expensive. It was $8.00 for parking, $8.00 per person, and then there is a list of two dozen items that can be rented for more money and an inflatable water park on the other shore. The children were incensed that we wouldn't pay the $20.00 per person for them to attend, and our answer, "We want you to attend college one day," didn't suffice. Anyway, as there was nothing else water related to do in the area, due to the drought, we paid our $40.00 and enjoyed the bare minimum.
But the bare minimum turned out to be pretty awesome!
Family members gave Brad and I gave this double canopy about a year back, but we were intimidated by the size of the "small apartment" and hadn't yet found a need for it... until that day. We both felt a bit ridiculous assembling it, but once we enjoyed the luxuries of large shade and screens we didn't really care what anybody else thought.
We were blessed with great lake neighbors. The two families near us could not have been nicer and one of them played with plastic animals and army men, which meant our children were instantly connected at the hip.
Five and a half hours later we say Lake Gregory is one of our favorite memories of this camping trip.
Okay, so I know this is a bit silly, but I gave each of my children a foot bath before bed and Simon, who had a layer of dust all over his body every single night, enjoyed a warm bath in miniature.
The girls shared an air mattress and every morning poor Alynna reported how the sleeping Kaeley had squashed her into the corner, slept nearly on top of her, or stolen all of her sleeping bag. This foot-in-face is just classic.
