Look at how cute Kaeley is! My mom signed Kaeley up for a Polynesian Dance class through the city. However, this super popular class was full, so Kaeley was put on a waiting list. We all forgot about it, because we thought what were the chances of her making the class? On Monday I got a call that she had made the class. The class started the next day. I already had plans with my friend to go to Seaside Lagoon, so we went to Seaside, back home for an hour and a half of quiet time, then back into the car for the class. What was surprising is that my very independent mini-grown-up child became incredibly self-conscious because she was dressed in shorts and a Tshirt instead of a hula skirt. Many of the little girls had already taken the class and were decked out in their little skirt and top which Kaeley is wearing in the pictures above. I wasn't very happy that she was choosing to make such a big deal of this outward appearance even after I told her we'd find one in the following week. Well, the teacher was selling the outfits, so I hoped to goodness that I wasn't encouraging spoiled behavior, and I bought the outfit. Suddenly she was part of the class. :)
Oh, she loved it! She learned to wiggle her hips and learned some simple foot work, which she finds very tricky. It was so cute. Now she wants to wear the outfit all the time! I hadn't allowed her to, because it was something special, but over nap time I thought, "Oh well, what's the big deal?" I'll give her the happy news when she wakes up.
The picture of Alynna came from during the class. Nathan and Alynna and I walked to the library. She had a great time pulling books off the shelf.

So she's doing both Hula and Tahitian?
I don't know. It's all the same isn't it? :) The class is titled Polynesian.
