Back Again

Last night our family went to see the Electric Parade. We left right before dinner. And so did the rest of California. Let's just say that Disneyland's parking structure is the biggest on this side of the Mississippi and it was full. We had to park in their emergency parking lot. If we hadn't had children in the car who were excited about Disneyland we adults would have volunteered an arm and a leg to eat dinner at a non-Disneyland restaurant and called a night. However, because we do crazy things for our children we fought through the jungle and an hour and a half later... we were finally in the park!
Brad and I took Kaeley on the Tower of Terror again. This time she was not scared, but she still didn't look like she was having fun on the ride itself. Then my mom and I took the kids to see the Bug's Life Show while Brad saved our spot in the parade route. Then my wonderful mother volunteered to watch Alynna while Brad and I played with the kids, so we took her up on it and rode the rides in Bug's World. Nathan loved the airplane ride in that area. I asked him, "Nathan, are you having fun? Are you in an airplane?" He answered, "No! Nay-han Names!" But as you can see, he did enjoy the ride.
We waited about a half hour to see the parade. The kids played and did surprisingly well considering it was past their bedtime at this point.
Our children have never seen this parade. I guess it was the last parade of the season, so I'm glad we got to see it with the millions of others who came last night. Nathan and Alynna were spellbound, but Kaeley didn't say anything for a while. Then she began to clap for the different princesses who would travel by and wave at the characters and clap along with the music. She finally leaned to me and said, "This is the best parade ever!"
Once the parade was finished we packed up and started heading to the exit... along with the other million people. That's not usually fun, but Disneyland began their fireworks show, so while we were walking out we were able to watch the fireworks. Nathan got so excited telling us which ones were his favorite that he ended up hitting himself in the chest over and over! Kaeley said it was the best nights of all nights, but missed her Papi.
It was a pain in the neck getting into the park and made me feel like a fool for being involved in the craziness that is Disneyland, but after it was all done and over and 11:00pm when the kids were finally asleep in their beds, I can honestly say that it was well worth it.
