Fountain of Youth? Not Mine.

This week I was informed about a great little fountain in the Palos Verdes Mall. It's free and all the kids just run around in the water and moms sit around at the nearby tables. Well, I packed up the three kids, two towels, a picnic lunch, two swim diapers, three bathing suits, sunscreen, sun hats, etc. Nathan enjoyed the water for about five minutes. After that both older children were back at my table begging for their towels. The water was too cold. Leave it to my kids to not like the cold water on a hot day. Sigh. It was so frustrating! I had already spent too much time yelling at Nathan this morning for various "he's two" reasons. Then Alynna kept climbing all over me wanting to be held. I was so frustrated with everything and Nathan kept talking and talking and talking. He has such a sweet little voice, but when you hear, "Why, Mommy? Why? Why, Mommy? Why?" or "Bob? Bob? Bob? Bob?" over and over and over again it's just too much! Then to get to this fountain and spend most of my time saying, "No. Go play." Sigh. A lot of other kids enjoyed it. Mine? Oh, they monopolized a little street-style game hosted by a day care. It was a great idea.
