I have been checking the movietickets.com for the past three weeks in anticipation for the movie Up. Finally, on Sunday, I saw that it was playing. Monday at noon the kids and I went to our sad little $3.25 Regency Theater. It's a very run down little movie theater, but who cares since their tickets are so cheap and their hot dogs are $1.00?
Now the movie started at noon, which made me a little nervous since it was smack in the middle of lunch for us and beginning of nap times, but I went anyway hoping that Alynna would sleep in the sling. I brought lunch for us, but bought myself a large soda and shared a large popcorn with the kids.
Overall we had a great time, but it was not as easy as I was hoping. Alynna got very antsy around nap time, so she started fussing. We were in the back seat of the theater, so I stood up to bounce her around, but then she started growling loudly, which she usually does when she's trying to fall asleep. I had to step outside, which made Nathan get curious and come find me. A few minutes later Kaeley also came out loudly telling me that her pizza was too hard and she couldn't bite through it.
It's funny to me that children can't seem to whisper. At least, not my kids. Kaeley would tell me her pizza was hard or that she didn't like a part of the movie, because it was scary, and the people all around us could have heard her. What was even better was when Nathan would see something in the movie that he was amused by. He would open his mouth and shout something like, "Funny, Mommy! Funny!" or "House all gone, Mommy! House. Finished! Funny!" Your kids always sound more loud to you... at least that's what I'm hoping. :)
The movie was very cute. I loved it! I love Pixar movies. This one totally turned me on to traveling in one's house. Now that's the way to go! Too bad I live in an apartment building. But, the movie was so cute! I can't wait to watch it again in the comfort of my own house. Sigh. It's a good movie.
We had a good date out. Now Kaeley is waiting for the next Ice Age movie to come out in that theater. I'm looking forward to it, but I sure do hope it's a little earlier in the day than Up was, that was a bit of hard work for me. I'm telling you, I needed a nap after all the shushing, comforting during scary parts, getting bits of lunches out for little people, bouncing, rocking, and finding times to breathe and enjoy the movie, which I did. :)
