Blessing the Soldiers

Well, okay, so there's no pictures of soldiers, but that's what our advent calendar activity was yesterday. Last year we brought them Sam's Club cookies. This year we brought them homemade cookies and Kaeley drew several pictures for the boss and "his servants". We were invited into their office building, which is about five minutes from our house, and the kids were fussed over and they insisted upon giving the children toys! I hadn't expected that at all. However, this year the woman at the door said thank you a few times and then let us on our way. That was fine. I think it was a bit anticlimactic for the kids, but oh well. So today it's on to the firemen.

Every Wednesday we meet a bunch of friends at a designated park, so I drove there after the reserves office. I guess the cold temperature scared everyone away, because we were the only ones there today. It turned out to be just fine though. The kids enjoyed playing for about an hour and a half and then we went home to eat lunch in the warmth of our apartment.

It was a much better day than Monday, I can tell you that! Praise the Lord!
