Well, it's sad to say, but Alynna has recently come into her own.
It used to be that she would play with a toy when suddenly Nathan would come over and grab the toy out of her hand. She would let out a loud, high-pitched scream. Nathan would drop the toy in surprise and slap his hands over his ears. I'd come running and make sure she got her toy back. Now it's Nathan who will be innocently playing with a toy and here comes Alynna. She's put a finger on his toy, he holds the toy closer to his chest, Alynna makes sure I'm looking, and then she'll let out a huge scream. Sigh. What a scam.
She's also learning the word "no". Her new things is climbing the dining room table. She loves climbing onto the kitchen nook bench, walk around the table, move around the place mats, climb onto the table top if I'm looking, take pictures off the wall, beg siblings for their food. This morning I've started implementing the "time out" with the baby. As I'm typing she's screaming her head off, because I took a muffin away from her. This silly muffin is something she wanted from breakfast almost an hour ago. She likes to hold it, but not eat it, which means crumbs galore. I told her she could eat the muffin if she sat down in her seat. This has happened twice now. She'll nod her head, sit down in a booster seat, take her muffin, and the next time I see her she's climbing down the table with the muffin in her hand, still uneaten.
What a grump! She's still screaming over that muffin she wouldn't eat. She's been up for an hour and a half or so and I think she already needs a nap.
Yesterday I told her no to something and I could have sworn I heard her respond with a nice long, sassy, "Ahh!"
