I can no reveal the Saavedra costumes! Kaeley was our own version of Harley Quinn (Joker's girlfriend), Nathan was Robin, and Alynna was supposed to be Bat Girl, but she insisted she was Bat Man.
I waited too late last night to take pictures, so we'll have to be satisfied with our pumpkin patch experience, which was very muddy.
Last night, as tradition holds, we had a delicious dinner with Brad's parents and their friends, Keith and Karen. My mom-in-law made her famous spaghetti. We all enjoyed. Kaeley and I were looking forward to the pasta. :)
We went trick-or-treating through the neighborhood. Nathan wasn't as scared as he was last year of certain houses and their ugly decorations. Yes, we "celebrate" Halloween. The kids dress up, we carve a pumpkin, watch Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin, and go trick-or-treating. I have a few Halloween decorations, but there is nothing ugly in the house. A few of the houses had strobe lights enough to make me go wacky. There were evil looking skeletons with wisps of hair and red eyes. Nathan and Alynna actually sat out a couple of houses due to the ugliness. I thought it was a good opportunity to teach Nathan about not being afraid if God is on our side. We started singing a song from Veggie Tales. It goes "God is bigger than the Boogie Man. He's bigger than Godzilla and the monster on TV..." He and I sang it quite loud while walking down the street, but once we were confronted with another skeleton several blocks later he started backing up. I asked him what we just learned and, through tears, he choked out, "God is... bigger... than... the Boogie Man." I decided he could be scared of plastic figures if he wanted to. They were darn ugly. Besides, who needs another piece of candy? We came home with 250+ pieces of goodies!
