Mother Son Date

While the super handsome husband and two cute girls were out of the house I decided to lessen the blow to Nathan by taking him out on a special date. After telling him that we could not go to Disneyland we both decided to try out miniature golfing. We have a family fun center right down the street from us and have never been. Here was our chance.

Trying to take a picture with my boys proved difficult as the oldest was being a rag doll.

That's more like it. Cute boy.

We just happened to get a great price. We spent $15.00 for the two of us to play all we wanted that evening and get two pieces of pizza and a drink. Simon ended up being the biggest challenge. The above picture shows his dedication to all things fast and loud. He's pointing to the adult go karts as they whizzed around the track.

Isn't that cute? The non-golfer was given a plastic golf club and ball.  He held the golf ball the entire time. This was our first time on the course and he already knew how to get a hole-in-one. He would walk right up to the hole at the end of the round, plop down, and drop his ball in the hole.

I had envisioned going golfing and actually golfing with Nathan. Instead I ended up having to run after Simon, who only had interest in climbing into the ponds and streams running through the course, and trying to keep up with Nathan. Nathan believes he's the best ever golfer. He would smack the ball (if the club indeed made contact with the ball) and when he and his trusty ball were close enough to the hole he would hook his club around the ball and sweep it into the hole. Here are some victory dances from my gracious winner. Yes, he won... seeing as how he out ran me and tricked me out of ever having a proper turn.

Proof of the youngest trying to escape me in favor of a fountain.

Nathan's attempt to take a picture.

Nathan did not know at first how to drive his car, so he very much lost his first race. He just stopped on the track until a worker showed him the gas pedal.

Pizza is plant-based, right? Sigh. Whatta ya gunna do?

This is Nathan's dinner. He took an entire package of crushed red pepper and topped his pizza with it. He ate the entire thing! He told me at least three times during the dinner that it was "not spicy one bit!"

It would make his daddy proud.
