Saturday, a Day of Rest

After the Crazies went to Legoland and a very full day at the USS Midway and Village by the Sea, we decided to dedicate Saturday to the campsite. The kids were just itching to get their hands on all those bikes and scooters and skateboards that the Crawfords had brought. All six children zipped around the paved roads that roamed the campgrounds.

After lunch we went on a bike ride. That was quite a treat seeing as how six bikes just don't fit apartment living.
The kids were absolutely convinced that they wanted to go to the pool. It took about five minutes of being in the pool before all of my children decided they really meant they wanted to be in the Jacuzzi. Especially my poor little skinny Minnie, Kaeley Sue, who, as she puts it "is very sensitive to the cold".
I sat by the side of the pool, because I'm a Jacuzzi-only kind of girl. Besides, someone had to take pictures, right?
This was the tandem of three that the Crawfords had brought. They were an instant parade with Kirk, then his daughter, then Kaeley, and finally Simon in the trailer. It was a huge hit.
I think Nathan was so excited about all his choices of activities that he prepared himself for all of them. Here he is with a snack, tennis shoes and socks, a bathing suit and towel, and his helmet. I'm thinking a triathlon? You go, Boy!
And another night ended with Simon succumbing to his absolute exhaustion. Both families were sitting around the fire eating ice cream sandwiches and asking each other riddles. Simon asked if he could go to bed, crawled into my lap and fifteen minutes later he was out. He was still out when we carried him back to the cabin, changed his diaper, and tucked him into bed.
